Search & Discovery

Find documents quickly using semantic search that understands meaning, not just keywords. Search across all your documents using natural language.

Semantic Search

tasket semantic search understands meaning and context, not just keywords. You can search using natural language - just describe what you're looking for in plain English.

How to Search

  1. Use the search box at the top of the Documents page or press Ctrl+K / Cmd+K for global search
  2. Type your query in natural language
  3. Results appear instantly as you type
  4. Click on any result to view the document

Example Queries

Try searching:

"Find all invoices from vendor X over $1000"

Or:

"Show me receipts from last month"

Or:

"What contracts expire this year?"

Why Semantic Search?

Unlike traditional keyword search, semantic search understands what you mean, not just the words you use. The system searches through:

  • Document content and extracted text
  • Structured data (dates, amounts, vendor names, etc.)
  • Document metadata and classifications
  • Contextual relationships between documents

Tip: You don't need to remember exact keywords or file names. Just describe what you're looking for, and the search will find relevant documents even if they use different wording.

Advanced Filters

Use filters to narrow down your search results and find exactly what you need:

Filter by Date

Filter by upload date, document date, or processing date. Use quick presets like "Last 7 days" or "This month", or set custom date ranges.

Filter by Type

Show only invoices, receipts, contracts, or other specific document types. Useful when you know what kind of document you're looking for.

Filter by Status

Show only documents that are processed, currently processing, or had errors. Helps you focus on documents ready to use.

Combine Filters

Use multiple filters together with search queries for precise results. For example: "invoices" + "last month" + "processed".

Pro Tip: Start with a broad search, then use filters to narrow down. You can combine semantic search with filters for the most precise results.

Search History

Your search history makes it easy to rerun previous queries:

  • Recent searches appear in the search dropdown when you click the search box
  • Click any previous query to rerun it instantly with current documents
  • Modify previous queries to refine results or search for similar items
  • Search history helps you quickly access frequently searched items

Saved Queries

Save your frequently used searches for quick access later:

  1. Perform your search query
  2. Click the bookmark or save icon (if available)
